Desk Checking 'Pro'!

     Desk- checking may be to some people a complete waste of time, but it's actually very important. Desk- checking is basically running the program without actually running the program but on paper. It comes in handy though, when doing tests and quizzes. We were asked by Mr. Arkin in computer science class to get a partner's repetition 6 assignment and do a code analysis and desk-check it.

     After this once again we had a free period class. First we had to rewrite our repetition 6 programs so that it followed what our partner corrected. After this I was able to work on other repetition assignments and I had a great amount of time. I was able to finish repetition assignment 9 in class. If anyone would like it here is the code:

var integer : int
var answer_y_n : string

loop

    put "What is the integer? " ..
    get integer
    if integer = 0 then
        put skip, "0 is not valid in this program, please pick an integer rather than 0.", skip
    else
        put skip, integer - (integer * 2)
        put skip, "More integers? y/n " ..
        get answer_y_n
        put skip
        exit when answer_y_n = "n" or answer_y_n = "N"
    end if

end loop

     Not really much to write about today, since we didn't do much in computer science class and because it was a really dull day. Oh wait, except for computer science, I always have fun in computer science :)

     For homework we were told to modify repetition assignment 7 so that it can collect any character instead of an '*' and any amount of rows instead of the pattern on the site. This seems pretty easy, but I can't be sure until I try it. Also I have to do the daily blog, as always. (Note to self: Stop writing that I have daily blog for homework. It's a waste of space and everyone knows I have it for homework everyday.)

     So sorry I couldn't write much today, I have many other subjects that I should work on. Until next time fellow bloggers. Bye.
